Kristen Bell Admits To Letting Her Kids, Ages 5 & 7, Drink O'Doul's Beer

Kristen Bell has been very open in the past about her relationship with husband Dax Shepard, as well as their lives as mother and father to daughters Lincoln, 7, and Delta, 5. Previously, Kristen has discussed how the kids once walked in on her and Dax while they were having sex. She's described how Dax once had to nurse from her breast. She's revealed how her five-year-old is still in diapers, and she spoke about locking a three-year-old Delta in her room (while standing outside the door) so she'd go to sleep. However even with all that, the 40-year-old actress's latest revelation might be her most controversial. On an episode of the Say Yes! with Carla Hall podcast, Kristen revealed she lets her kids drink beer - non-alcoholic O'Doul's beer - but beer.

Before she spoke about it, she stated, "I'm going to get a lot of flak for this. And let me start by saying I don't care. You're allowed to give me any advice you guys want, any of these listeners. You're welcome to tell me I’m a terrible parent. I don't care. I'm a great parent, I think. I'm learning every day."

She went on to explain that Dax has been sober for 16 years but he often drinks O'Doul's. Back when their kids were babies, Dax would have the girls strapped to him on a baby bjorn. He'd go for walks around the neighborhood and drink an O'Doul's. Often, the baby would paw at the bottle and put the rim in her mouth so drinking it now, Kristen said, is "a sentimental thing for my girls" that "makes them feel close to their dad." She added that she doesn't see much of a problem with it, noting, "We're like, 'I mean, there's nothing wrong with it. It's just essentially a bubbly juice.' Right? There's nothing in it." Kristen also feels it's a good way to speak to the girls about their dad's sobriety.

It gets a little more problematic though. The girls once brought O'Doul's into their Zoom classroom during their school's remote learning. Bell said, "They have 15-minute breaks where they're allowed to jump around and grab a snack and wiggle it out. And I walk in to check on them at 9:30 and both of them are drinking an O'Doul's on their Zooms. They're both just sipping their Doulies. And I'm like, 'What must these other parents and teachers think of me?'" They also have asked for the drink out at restaurants.

Making matters worse, while Kristen said the drink is non-alcoholic, O'Doul's has stated that their products have "less than 0.5% alcohol by volume," meaning they are not completely alcohol-free. Fans' opinions are pretty split over it:
