Matty Healy Reveals If He Would Collaborate With My Chemical Romance

Naturally, My Chemical Romance has been the topic of much conversation after recently announcing their reunion, and during an interview with BBC Radio 1 Matty Healy revealed if The 1975 would ever collaborate with the iconic emo rockers.

“I’m not too happy about [Gerard Way] coming back for his emo lord crown once I’ve announced myself as quite overtly being that," Healy quipped after admitting he's going to the show in Los Angeles next month. "He’s gonna come back and try and claim it isn’t he? Emo grandad more like Gerard, thank you, off you pop.”

“No, I love My Chemical Romance," he said on a more serious note. "I don’t think we’d ever collab but I don’t see why not.”

After the LA show sold out in a matter of minutes, MCR announced a slew of 2020 dates overseas, including appearances at Download Fest in Australia and Japan, and a show in New Zealand that boasts Jimmy Eat World as a special guest.

Meanwhile, The 1975 are prepping their fourth studio album and have shared three tracks off the upcoming project. Notes on a Conditional Form is slated for a February 21, 2020 release.
