Walk The Moon Guitarist Drops Out Of Tour Dates To Prepare For New Baby

Walk the Moon is an important part of Eli Maiman's life, but the guitarist/backing vocalist is proving that family comes first. His wife is 38 weeks pregnant, and even though the band is set to play a handful of festivals in the upcoming weeks, he just can't risk missing the birth of his first child.

On Wednesday (September 18), Mainman let fans know that he would not be joining the band on their upcoming dates with a lengthy message on WTM's Instagram.

"hi - for those who don’t know, my beautiful wife alex is 38 weeks pregnant," he wrote alongside a photo of himself and his very pregnant wife. "we are in the home stretch, and, really, baby boy could show up at any time 😬. since we’re on his schedule, after much thought, ive decided i cannot be present at our upcoming shows in las vegas, sonoma, and el dorado. as much as it bums me out to miss these, it would break my heart to miss the birth of my son, and i simply can’t risk it."

This doesn't mean the band will be canceling their tour dates, however. In fact, Maiman assured fans they already found someone to step in for him. "of course, the show must go on, so the inimitable and very capable @lucky_west will be stepping up to fill my shoes for a few shows," he said. "i love you all. thank you for your support and understanding 🖤"
