Tom Morello Enlists Gary Clark Jr. On New Song "Can't Stop The Bleeding"

It would be a shame if Tom Morello and Gary Clark Jr. don't record another song together after "Can't Stop the Bleeding."

Clark handles lead guitar and vocals on the new tune, which starts out as an undeniable blues-rocker, dripping with swaggering Morello guitar riffs and Clark's Clapton/Buddy Guy-esque lead playing.

The classic clank of Morello's rhythm guitar breaks into a pre-chorus that builds like something off Clark's latest album, This Land. From there, the tune breaks into an Audioslave-like chorus that pushes Morello's guitar back to the fore and introduces the first bit of Gramatik's electronic production with sampled kick and snare sounds.

Gramatik takes over with programming after the second chorus, bringing the song from roots rock to trip-hop and back with the utmost impact.

The surprise new single, which was released ahead of the May 3 start of Morello's 'The Atlas Underground LIVE' solo tour, is the clearest evidence yet that Morello and Clark have real chemistry together. After all, it's been three years since Morello last formed a super group!

Clark also appears on Atlas Underground on the song, "Where It's At Ain't What It Is."
