Hit of the night and reason not to streak or possibly drink at a BC Lions game! pic.twitter.com/vtnNx8sGWm— Jaden S (@Jadenfootball21) June 17, 2018
A fan learned the hard that it is a terrible idea to run onto the field during a professional football game in Canada. After the first stoppage in play at the BC Lions' home opener against the Montreal Alouettes, a fan took off his shoes, ripped off his pants and ran onto the field.
The fan ran around the field waving his hands in the air trying to hype up the crowd while players stood around and watched. The streaker seemed to be enjoying his time on the field until he ran a little too close to Lions' defensive back Marcel Young. Videos captured by fans show Young size up the fan, run toward him and then level him with a vicious shoulder block.
The hit left the fan crumpled on the ground while a security guard came over to check on him. Young returned to his teammates who congratulated him on the tackle. The fan appeared shaken up and was helped off of the field by security guards.
After the game, the Lions' shared a gif of the hit to celebrate their 22-10 victory over the Alouettes.
