CHVRCHES Covers Beyoncé's "XO" Live on the Honda Stage in NYC (VIDEO)

It's been a few years, but on May 25th, CHVRCHES fans will finally get their hands on a brand new album from the band. Love Is Dead is CHVRCHES' third full-length studio album and the followup to 2015's Every Open Eye.

CHVRCHES recently performed some of their new music on the Honda Stage at the iconic Power Station recording studio in New York City. The band performed songs like their new Love Is Dead single "Get Out," in addition to music from their previous albums including "Mother We Share" (from their debut album The Bones of What You Believe) and a gorgeous indie/alternative rendition of Beyoncé's "XO."

Before the band performed their cover of Queen Bey, the explained that it's a song they've been wanting to cover for a while. They explain, "We've been talking about covering 'XO' by Beyoncé for years. It's one of those moments where you don't forget the first time you hear the song, and it speaks to you on that level, 'XO' is a moment like that for all of us. We were on tour, all of us losing our minds about this Beyoncé tune that had just come into the world. And we tried it a few times, we tried it with big production, and it always seemed, somehow, wrong, or somehow inferior to ... I mean, obviously, she's an untouchable vocalist."

The Honda Stage platform celebrates determined, breakout artists, much like CHVRCHES. The band, from Glasgow, Scotland, consists of of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, and over the last several years, have taken the synth pop/indie world by storm with two (about to be three) full-length LPs, three EPs, numerous tours, and have amassed a loyal following.

CHVRCHES new album Love Is Dead, includes previously released singles like "Get Out" and "My Enemy," along with 11 additional new songs. Love Is Dead will be released in full on May 25th.
